Higher Perspective Consulting & Events (HPCE) are proud to be working with the APBA to create what we promise to be an exciting and memorable event. Rotorua, the tourism, and cultural, capital of NZ is sure to impress and create lasting memories. 

For your 'free' day on Wednesday, 7th October we have put together a range of activities to suit all ages and abilities. If you are a dare devil and want to get the adrenalin pumping we have white water rafting trips, a 4WD adventure and mountain biking. If you are bringing the family, we have family friendly options including the iconic NZ invention - the Zorb and the famous Skyline Skyrides luge. Whether it is adventure or leisure you are seeking, we have you covered!

GUIDED TOUR OF MT TARAWERA – CRATER WALK

 

Discover the unique landscape and history of Mount Tarawera on a unique 4.5-hour half-day adventure from Rotorua. Learn the history and discover local myths and legends from your experienced guide.

 

On 10th June 1886 Mt Tarawera erupted creating the world’s youngest geothermal valley of Waimangu. At the same time, it destroyed the legendary Pink and White Terraces. Standing high above Rotorua, Mt Tarawera is well-regarded by local Maori and offers a unique adventure for those who wish to explore it.

 

This trip is a fully guided walking experience where you will get stunning scenic vistas and 360° panoramic views. There is also the option to run in to the heart of the volcanic crater!

 

Departure:          8.15am or 1.15pm

WHITE WATER RAFTING - THE KAITUNA RIVER

 

Undoubtedly one of the most popular activities in Rotorua, and perhaps New Zealand, white water river rafting is the ultimate extreme experience!

 

The Kaituna River is home to not just one but three impressive waterfalls, including the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world – the 7m Tutea Falls! On this trip you will get to experience the amazing deep, warm water canyons and heart pumping rapids (14 in total!). This trip is not for the faint hearted!

 

Clear water, native scenery and Maori History line the gorge of the beautiful Kaituna River, making this a world class rafting experience. River guides will be with you the entire trip. All equipment, including helmets, wetsuits, and buoyancy aids, are provided to ensure your safety. White water rafting in New Zealand doesn’t get any better than this!

 

Departure:         10am, 12pm and 2pm

Notes:                No experience required. No strict weight limit but if over 120kg please

MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE WHAKAREWAREWA FOREST

 

Rotorua is New Zealand’s mountain biking mecca and home to one of the oldest mountain bike networks in New Zealand with around 180km of continually evolving trails in the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest (aka The Redwoods).

 

Just 5 minutes from downtown Rotorua, it is the perfect place to play no matter what your skillset. The trails cater for all levels of ability and fitness ranging from beginner trails (grade 2) through to expert (grade 6).

 

Red Bull have rated the Whakarewarewa trails in the top eight of the world and Australian Mountain Bike Magazine claiming them to be the best. So, what are you waiting for – get amongst it!

You will need to select your bike size will at the time of booking.

Family friendly tours

RAINBOW SPRINGS NATURE PARK & SKYLINE SKYRIDES

 

There is so much to do at Rainbow Springs. There are walkthrough aviaries, trout and reptile viewpoints, the Kiwi Burrow experience, Nocturnal kiwi house, a big playground and the popular Big Splash roller coaster ride. Enjoy 2 hours having a look around and then make your own way next door to Skyline Skyrides.

 

Jump on board one of the eight-seater Gondolas at Skyline Skyrides. You will experience spectacular views of Rotorua, including the lake, city and steaming geothermal vistas. Once at the top, make your way to the famous Luge. The luge is great for any age – small children can ride with adults. You will get 3 x luge rides per person. First up you will take the scenic track through the Redwoods Forest. After catching the chairlift back to the top, you can choose to go on the intermediate or advanced track.  

 

Once you have finished your luge rides, you can check out the nature trails and visit the Jelly Belly Store (a must!). After getting your sugar fix at the Jellybean shop, you will catch the gondola back down the mountain to meet the bus waiting to take you back to the hotel.

SKYLINE SKYRIDES & ZORB

 

Start your day by jumping on board one of the eight-seater Gondolas at Skyline Skyrides. You will experience spectacular views of Rotorua, including the lake, city and steaming geothermal vistas. Once at the top, make your way to the famous Luge. The luge is great for any age – small children can ride with adults. You will get 3 x luge rides per person. 

 

Once you have finished your luge rides, you can check out the nature trails and visit the Jelly Belly Store (a must!). After getting your sugar fix at the Jellybean shop, you will catch the gondola back down the mountain and hop back on the bus. You will be transported to the home of the Zorb!

 

ZORB Rotorua is the only location in New Zealand where you can experience rolling down a hill in a ball. There are 4 tracks available: Straight track, sidewinder track, mega track and big air track. You choose TWO tracks to play on!

Inclusions:           Gondola, 3 x luge rides, 2 x Zorb rides of your choice & transport

Notes:                 All Zorb riders must be 5 years and over. Maximum weight is 125kg

                             they suffer from high blood pressure, epilepsy, dislocations,

                             pregnancy, heart conditions, back, neck to head injuries or any other

                             physical condition that may restrict your ability to safely ride. Child

OFF ROAD NZ - 4WD BUSH SAFARI & KART SPORT

 

Located just 20 minutes north of Rotorua city lies Off Road NZ. Situated on a beautiful NZ Native Bush clad property, your adrenaline adventure awaits! Journey into the unknown with an ultimate 4WD adventure. Rugged and remote. The trail ahead of you disappears into thick native NZ forest. Prepare for a journey that is full of unknowns…..

 

Buckle in behind the wheel of one of Off Road NZ’s 4WDs. Your professional guide, ahead of you, gives you instructions while your heart is racing with anticipation. The track is full of unbelievably steep climbs and descents. Tight, twisting bends. Deep, muddy water holes. A 6-metre-high controlled slide down a near-vertical 80-degree slope. Adrenaline pumping, you try not to look down. Follow instructions and take a leap of faith!

 

Experience the buzz and adrenaline of KartSport – in the driver’s seat – at New Zealand’s newest and longest KartSport circuit! Experience the sensation of ground rush as your kart reaches up to 100km/hour on the 150-metre straight. Tyres squeal and G-forces pull as you take on hairpin corners, flowing curves and long straights that demand intense concentration and skill… while all around you, other competitors rival for your position.  Time on track: 10 minutes.

ROTORUA CANOPY TOURS

Things to note

Minimum / Maximum numbers

Some trips have a minimum number of guests required before the trip can go ahead. Should numbers not be met we will advise you at least 3 weeks prior so we can make alternative arrangements. 

Some activities have a maximum number, so these trips are based on first in first served. 

Cancellation

If you cancel your reservation within 14 days of the event start date (7th October) cancellation fees will apply.

Full payment is required within 14 days of invoice being issued to secure your booking. There are three payment options as follows:
